The thought of meeting with a therapist can be intimidating and I pride myself in my clients describing me as being down to earth and easy to talk with. Most individuals who have never pursued therapy before are surprised at how much they enjoy the counseling relationship. Think of it as a gift to yourself!! It is important that my clients are comfortable so they can address their past and present concerns and discover the best version of themselves. I believe that therapy is unique to the individual and that techniques used should reflect the individual’s needs.
While some problems have concrete solutions, often it is a matter of figuring out how to get through the painful situations in life; not to necessarily solve the problem but learn to find acceptance in it, and determine what it means for you as you move forward.
Within my practice I work with a variety of populations. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, domestic violence, grief and loss, or other issues, I can help you set goals for yourself and work toward achieving them. I look forward to working with you!

An avid runner, Amanda believes there is a strong connection between the mind and body and incorporates a holistic approach in her therapy. Whether it is offering nutritional suggestions on foods that help alleviate depressive symptoms, or helping clients identify a form of exercise that helps them reduce their stress, Amanda looks at her clients as ‘whole people’ rather than a collection of symptoms. Often described as patient and calm, Amanda utilizes these traits to create a safe space for clients to explore their difficulties and find solutions.
Practicing from a solution-focused perspective Amanda believes that even the smallest changes are a step in the right direction. She works alongside her clients, as a guide, and focuses on her clients’ strengths to help them build upon what is already working. Amanda has experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families.
