The thought of meeting with a therapist can be intimidating and I pride myself in my clients describing me as being down to earth and easy to talk with. Most individuals who have never pursued therapy before are surprised at how much they enjoy the counseling relationship. Think of it as a gift to yourself!!  It is important that my clients are comfortable so they can address their past and present concerns and discover the best version of themselves.  I believe that therapy is unique to the individual and that techniques used should reflect the individual’s needs.

While some problems have concrete solutions, often it is a matter of figuring out how to get through the painful situations in life; not to necessarily solve the problem but learn to find acceptance in it, and determine what it means for you as you move forward.

Within my practice I work with a variety of populations.  If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, domestic violence, grief and loss, or other issues, I can help you set goals for yourself and work toward achieving them. I look forward to working with you!

Why I Chose to Be A Therapist

I’ve always enjoyed intimate, one-on-one conversations rather than “small talk” in a large group. I became a therapist because I realized early on that I had a knack for guiding people through darkness.  As someone who has fought her own battles, I realized that it was ok to ask for help and fight those battles with not always ease but determination. I celebrate those moments where I see hope in the eyes of a client, or a recognition of their greatness. There’s nothing I’d rather do with my life. I consider myself so lucky to do this work.

Does something in your life need to change but you aren’t sure how to make this happen? Maybe you’ve thought about counseling but you’re nervous about reaching out for help? I believe every person has a unique life story and their own journey that is no one else’s. It’s okay to ask for help. My non-judgmental, laid back and down to earth personality will allow you to open up in a safe and comfortable space and together, we can find the right plan that helps you achieve your goals.

Throughout childhood, adolescence and adulthood, life has obstacles and challenges that can present themselves unexpectedly. It is my passion to help my clients conquer these obstacles by educating, empowering and encouraging them to achieve their most impossible goals and improve their overall quality of life.

While I specialize in working with children, adolescents, young adults and their families, I also enjoy working with adults and couples.

Why I Chose to Be A Therapist

Many people are surprised when I tell them I’ve dreamt of being a mental health therapist since middle school. I remember going through some really difficult family issues at the time. I felt alone. I felt that I couldn’t go to my family and my friends just wouldn’t understand. Although it took some time, I finally turned to my school counselor for help. Suddenly, I wasn’t so alone. I felt heard, understood and validated. I knew from that moment on that I wanted to make a difference in the world. I wanted to be that person for someone else. I can honestly say it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.

Why I Chose to Be A Therapist

I chose to be a mental health therapist for a variety of reasons. A few of those reasons include witnessing mental health struggles within my family as a child, having a strong desire to make a lasting impact in the lives of others, and firmly believing in the idea of continuous self-improvement. The concept of service was instilled in me at a young age and I eagerly embrace opportunities to contribute to the change process of others.

I enjoy assisting my clients in the creation of meaningful, realistic goals for themselves. I will strive to provide you the support, empathy, and empowerment needed in order to help you successfully achieve your goals by building upon your existing strengths and skills.

Together, we can address the issues holding you back, establish goals, and take the steps necessary to make these goals a reality.

Why I Chose to Be A Therapist

I am a mental health therapist because I learned how important and valuable it is to have at least one person in your life who is in your corner, on your side, unquestionably cheering and advocating for your best interests.  Personally, there was one person in my life, from the time I was young and throughout my adult years, whom I could count on for anything, both during times of happiness as well as distress.  Since truly realizing this person’s immensely positive impact on my life, it has been my life’s goal to pay that forward to anyone I could.  I have always wanted to be the person for others to lean on when they need it.

Working in the field of mental health for over 13 years I have learned a great deal.  The most significant, is that the client/therapist relationship is the most important part of the process.

I cherish that relationship and everything that comes with it. I strive daily to be open, caring, supportive, empathic and above all professional.

I have a background in cognitive and intellectual disabilities, eating disorders, cutting, substance abuse, crisis, grief and trauma, LGBT+ issues, domestic violence and sexual trauma/violence.

I pull from all of my learning and experience to create a comfortable atmosphere and use a holistic eclectic approach where we can find what works for you. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults.

Helping my clients identify their goals and seeing them make progress and grow is such an amazing process.  As a team we can work together to make the positive changes you are looking for.

Why I Chose to Be A Therapist

Growing up I always knew I wanted to work with people in a helping way I just didn’t know how exactly. When I was a senior in high school I was able to take Intro to Psychology as part of my school schedule and this whole new world opened to me. Suddenly I was learning about the human brain, Freud, human behavior and I decided I needed to know everything possible about this subject.  I declared my major early in college and knew I wanted to be a therapist.

We are all complex beings filled with unique experiences, emotions, and our own ways of handling stressful and unpredictable situations.  From time to time when we don’t fully understand how to handle events that are going on in our lives, we need someone to walk with us through those tough times.  As a mental health counselor, I want to walk with you as you navigate through your journey and help you find your way to the answers you are looking for.

I believe that each client is different and has their own unique story that they wish to tell, and because of this, I like to tailor the therapeutic approaches that I work from to meet each client’s specific needs.  I primarily see children and adolescents, but I also enjoy working with couples and adults as well.  My areas of clinical interest include: anxiety, depression, eating disorders/body image issues, grief & loss, couples counseling, and trauma.

Why I Chose To Be A Therapist

Growing up, I watched my own family members struggle with mental health issues that went untreated.  It wasn’t until I saw someone close to me reach their breaking point when I decided I wanted to be the person who helped others through their struggles.  As I went through my schooling, I began to understand my own mental health struggles and decided to do something about them.  Going to therapy was one of the best decisions I have made for myself.  Having that unbiased person on your side to help you see things you cannot see yourself has been so helpful and beneficial to my personal well-being and overall mental state.

At some point in our lives, we will encounter challenges that can cause us to feel overwhelmed, stressed, or anxious. We might struggle with feeling lost with no sense of direction. When we find ourselves in these situations, it can be difficult to face these obstacles alone. Through therapy you can receive the support needed to help you work through those difficult times. My mission in therapy is to provide a safe, open space to help you identify your strengths, develop skills, create goals, and work through challenges in your life.

I strive to remain empathic, supportive, and authentic as we work together in this therapeutic relationship. I believe each individual is unique and I will provide different therapeutic techniques to meet your needs.

I have had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, and adults in both residential and inpatient settings with people struggling with a variety of diagnoses, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, behavioral issues, and emotional dysregulation. From these experiences, I have found the therapeutic process most rewarding when we are able to work collaboratively and openly.   I would be grateful to be part of that process and help you navigate through this journey!

Why I Chose to Be A Therapist

I chose to be a mental health therapist because I want a career that focuses on helping others grow. I enjoy collaborating with clients and watching them use the tools they’ve been given in therapy to become their best possible self. It is a rewarding experience and I’m passionate about what I do.

“There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t,” by John Green has always been one of my favorite quotes. As an advocate, I have continuously encouraged individuals to see a therapist. When life feels challenging it may be easy to tell yourself that there is no hope; however, it is my priority to remind you that there is. Therapy is not only for those who are managing something difficult, it can also be for someone who is adjusting to a positive change. It can be for a child starting at a new school, or an adult preparing to marry their soulmate. Therapy is not just for those who suffer from mental health challenges. Therapy is for everyone.

In a world full of negativity, I strive to keep a space where you can feel free to express yourself in a way that makes you most comfortable. I hold myself accountable to remain positive, friendly, and empathetic with my clients in order to be the therapist they need. My goal is that you leave therapy after every session feeling safe, encouraged, and ready to take on anything that comes your way. By teaching you the skills you need to move forward, we can work together to make that possible.

Although I specialize in working with children and adolescents, I am also eager to work with adults, and families. I look forward to speaking with you to begin your journey of self-discovery.

Why I Chose to Be A Therapist

I chose to be a mental health therapist because I want to be a part of an individual’s personal growth and reason their life changes for the better. I want to see people laugh, smile, and become who they want to be.

Seeing a therapist can seem overwhelming.  From the beginning, my empathic personality will help you to feel comfortable and provide you assurance that you and I together will bring you to a place where you are feeling confident and self- assured. I pride myself in working collaboratively with you so that your needs are met, and you can boldly move closer to living your best life.

Together we will work to alleviate the stressors of your life and find a place of balance and contentment, while bringing mindfulness into the therapeutic sacred space.

Why I Chose to Be a Therapist

I chose to be a therapist because of the life transitions that I went through in different phases of my life. Through my struggles, the strongest help came through the therapists I have seen throughout those transitions. To see the difference in my life due to the help I received, I knew I had to help others going through challenges. My empathic nature led me down this path, as I enjoy working with others and seeing the difference it makes in their life.

Are you at a place where you are feeling overwhelmed and not sure where to go from here? Are you struggling with navigating life’s challenges and feeling like you need some additional support? First, let me give you the praise you wholeheartedly deserve. It takes a lot of courage to rise up and ask for help. I have the utmost respect for you allowing yourself to experience that vulnerability and I would be honored to walk with you and guide you on your journey to personal wellness.

I am dedicated to creating a safe, supportive environment for my clients. I take pride in my client-centered, holistic approach. I use integrative methods. I do not believe therapy is an one-size fits all process. You are the expert of your own life, and very deserving to share your story. I am here to listen and help you narrate the story you want to represent to the world!

Why I Became A Therapist

I had my own struggles growing up, and the help of a therapist is what gave me my courage to speak my truth and share my story. I knew then I wanted to dedicate my life to doing the same for others. As I was going through my schooling, I knew I did not want to work a job supporting a corporation. I wanted to help people grow, discover their best selves and overcome. This is what ultimately betters society. What better way than being a therapist? It is an honor to work in this field, and I cannot picture myself doing anything else.

Are you looking to lose weight, boost energy or create more balance in your life?  Do you desire to maintain a healthier diet and lifestyle?  Or just overall improve your self care? It seems almost impossible to keep up with all the changing health and wellness research out there.  Avoid fat – no, eat fat.  Cut carbs – no, carbs are good for you. You’ve managed to lose weight and reach your goals on occasion, but they’ve been impossible to sustain.  You’ve tried so many diets, fads, shakes… But nothing seems to work. Sometimes you wonder if you were really meant to live in the body you dream about.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

What if you could find a way to mend your relationship with food and exercise and your overall health? What if you could finally feel comfortable in your skin and empowered to live the life you desire? I’m here to tell you it is possible. And very much within your reach!

Working with me you will gain a thorough understanding of why you’ve been struggling.  We’ll examine your habits, assess your goals, and create sustainable solutions that fit your lifestyle. My approach is grounded in the pillars of nutrition, mindfulness, movement and self-care. These levers offer a world of opportunity for us to explore and find the specific tools you need to live your best life.  I look forward to being on your journey to great health.

Why I Became a Coach

In my twenties college life took its toll on me. My daily struggles with emotional eating, sugar cravings, and endless fad dieting began. It was how I coped with stress and trauma. I had a very unhealthy relationship with food. Later in my thirties I became a Personal Trainer and soon learned that nutrition is a huge part of our health.  I wanted to be able to help my personal training clients more so I enrolled in the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and became a Health Coach.  I not only learned the difference between unhealthy and healthy foods but I also learned how to create a better relationship with food.  How not to use food as comfort and how to help my clients stick to their healthy lifestyle.

Today I am armed with the knowledge required to be my best self, I am finally in control. The result? A healthier, happier woman whose intense gratitude inspires me to give this gift to others.

Why I Chose to Be A Therapist

I came into this field after a career shift and some much-needed personal growth. After realizing I was in an unfulfilling career, I finally stopped allowing perceived obstacles to keep me from exploring the one field I had always been interested in: mental health. Following my own personal therapy, I began my shift into counseling where I believe I have truly, finally come home. It has been so rewarding to be allowed to come along with someone on their life-journey, walk with them along their path, and watch them process and grow on their terms. I find people to be incredibly inspiring and I enjoy the opportunity to provide a space where they can show up as they are, explore their feelings, and evolve in a nonjudgmental and supportive environment. It’s truly an honor to be in the field.

Your mental health starts with you. Let us help you on your journey.
